When it comes to incredible travel locations, it is always good to feel like someone in the know – the only one of your friends to find a hidden, faraway paradise with history, attractions, and sightseeing all rolled into one. If you have ever been to the South Island of New Zealand, then you have experienced such a place. If you have not, well, if you promise to keep it a secret, maybe you can learn about it here and go before any of your friends do.
Marlborough Wine Country
Begin your relaxed journey through paradise with a trip to Marlborough Wine Country. The sun seems to shine just a little bit brighter here (actually there are records that it does so, and longer as well), and what is more, it does so year round.
You have the option of exploring over 60 wineries, most of which welcome visitors for tasting sessions and good times. You will be especially pleased with the Sauvignon Blanc of the region, although you simply cannot go wrong with any of the lighter white wines here.
Christchurch – The Garden City
The incredible tree lined Christchurch city will serve as your escape to nature. Among other things, the region boasts an hour long behind the scenes tour of the Antarctic Campus on the Hagglund Ride, the interactive Southern Encounter Aquarium, the Willowbank Wildlife Reserve, and the incredible views of the Mona Vale Homestead overlooking the Avon River.
Queenstown – Premier Four Season Retreat
The absolute best resort in the Southern Hemisphere, the Queenstown resort places you right on the edge of the gorgeous Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables Range – you are truly caught between a pillow and a soft place. Here you can explore a bit more of your adventurous side, as the resort has easy access to jet skiing, bungy jumping, flying fox and jet boats.
Fiordland
You have not truly visited the South Island until you take a plane over the incredible Fiordland National Park. Finish your trip on the right foot with a trip to Breaksea Sounds and the dolphins.

New Zealand looks incredibly beautiful. I know it is very diverse and I would love to visit there one day!
