They are the cheapest way to get from point A to point B, and everyone should try it at least once while visiting. Motortrykes are another option.
Definitely one of the things I miss most about the Philippines are the jeepneys. Have you done much riding around in them Bob? There is a whole proper etiquette for them LOL. I can still hear all the yells of ‘bayad’ and ‘lugar lang’ … Good times!
I have been in a few but since most of us westerners are larger than the average Filipino so they can get a little cramped. I get a few bemused looks when I get in one.
